Hip injury sidelines Hunter for second straight game

BOSTON --  The Celtics will be without R.J. Hunter for the second straight game due to a left hip injury.

The 6-foot-6 guard suffered it during a recent practice. While the injury doesn’t appear to be a long-term problem, the Celtics are being cautious in returning him to the floor.

Hunter being out may lead to more minutes tonight for James Young, who had his best game of the season in Boston’s 111-93 win at New Orleans on Monday. He had four points, three rebounds and two assists while playing a season-high 20 minutes.

Hunter, drafted by Boston with the 28th overall pick in last June’s NBA draft, has been a bit of a surprise this season for the Celtics. While he hasn't logged major minutes, he has been arguably the team’s top rookie, appearing in 14 games this season and averaging 3.1 points and 1.4 rebounds while playing 10.8 minutes per game.
