Donté Stallworth recounts awesome Bill Belichick story from 2007

Tom Brady's Week 7 masterpiece against the Miami Dolphins in 2007 was a microcosm of just how special the 16-0 Patriots were.

Brady started the deconstruction of the Dolphins defense by going 11-for-11 with four touchdowns. He finished 21-for-25 for 354 yards and six scores, five of which came in the first half. Two of Brady's TD's were deep balls that Randy Moss hauled in through double coverage.

Brady's 158.3 passer rating in the 49-28 win remains tied for his career-high for a regular season game. It's also as high as the passer rating metric goes. Brady's performance was just like the '07 Pats — just about as close to perfection as you can get.

But as former wideout Donté Stallworth noted on Twitter on Tuesday, the week leading up to Brady's monster performance was anything but smooth.

At halftime, Stallworth wrote, New England led 42-7. In the locker room, cornerback Asante Samuel quipped to Bill Belichick that "maybe you should give us off every Thursday." Belichick wasn't amused, responding "don't push your luck," with a smirk.

The unique inside look at what it's like to play for Bill Belichick is a great excuse to re-watch highlights from 2007...and get hyped for the 2019 season, which is a mere 37 days away.
