Delaware defeats Northeastern, 72-66

BOSTON(AP)-- Jawan Carter scored 22 points and Delaware got all its offense from its starters in a 72-66 victory over Northeastern on Tuesday night.Every Blue Hen starter scored in double figures with Devon Saddler adding 16 points, Jamelle Hagins 12, Kelvin McNeil and D.J. Boney 11 apiece. McNeil had 15 rebounds as Delaware (12-14, 7-9 Colonial Athletic Association) broke a five-game losing streak by sweeping its season series against the Huskies (9-18, 5-11).The score was tied at 57, when Boney gave the Blue Hens the lead for good on a 3-pointer with 2:30 left, the middle basket during a 7-0 run that made it 62-57. Chiasson Allen cut the Delaware lead to three points with a pair of free throws and only 1:15 left, but the Huskies came no closer.
