Squads from Massachusetts and Maine faced off Thursday night for the right to represent New England at the Little League World Series.

Gray, Maine beat out Canton, Massachusetts, 2-1. This is the second win for the Maine team over the Bay Staters - on Monday they took them out 7-1.

Canton rebounded on Wednesday, beating New Hampshire 5-0, but that run is over. Maine will continue on to the Little League World Series.

The regional championship game aired on ESPN.

One more New England team could head to South Williamsport as well. Smithfield, Rhode Island, is in Friday's Metro Region championship game against New York.
