Eric Frede has all the headlines and highlights for Monday, September 10, on CSNNE.com's SportsNet Central Update.
The Patriots kicked off the regular season with a win -- their ninth season-opening win in a row -- over the Titans, 34-13. The Pats did it with a balanced passing and rushing attack and a superb defensive effort.
The Red Sox on the other hand continue to lose, falling to the Blue Jays, 4-3, at Fenway Park on Sunday. Clay Buchholz went into the 9th inning, but gave up the winning run on a sacrifice fly. The Sox fall to 15 games below .500 on the year, but there is good news: they won't lose on Monday . . . because they don't play. They will host the Yankees in a three-game series starting on Tuesday.
