Myles Garrett pokes fun at Sam Darnold, says he wants to make Tom Brady see ghosts

New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold's admission that he was "seeing ghosts" against the New England Patriots defense during Monday night's game will be the butt of many jokes for a long time.

Even Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett couldn't resist referencing it when answering a question Wednesday about getting pressure on New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Garrett and the Browns will play the Patriots on Sunday afternoon at Gillette Stadium, and Cleveland needs an excellent performance from the 2017 No. 1 overall draft pick to have a great chance of pulling off the upset. The Texas A&M product is tied for the league lead in sacks with nine, and he's tallied at least one sack in five of the Browns' six games.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick on Monday described Garrett as "pretty much impossible to block."

The real question is whether Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield will be seeing ghosts in the final game before Halloween.

Mayfield leads the league in interceptions with 11, and he's going up against a Patriots defense with a league-high 18 interceptions -- at least twice as many as every other team. The Patriots have won 20 consecutive games against first- or second-year quarterbacks, and Mayfield likely will be their next victim Sunday.
