Live stream: Celtics battle Wizards looking to avenge latest loss

Share

The Boston Celtics will try to avenge Wednesday night's 116-107 loss to the Wizards when they meet again Saturday evening in Washington.

The Celtics will be a bit shorthanded this weekend with veteran point guard Marcus Smart ruled out because of a non-COVID related illness. Josh Richardson (lower back spasms), Robert Williams III (non-COVID illness) and Romeo Langford (left calf tightness) all are questionable to play.

Regardless of who plays for Boston, this team needs a much better performance from its two stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, on Saturday night. These two All-Star forwards combined to score just 36 points in Wednesday's defeat, including a lackluster 2-of-12 shooting from 3-point range.

The Celtics have had issues defending opposing centers this season, allowing many of them to tally double-doubles. That includes Wizards center Montrezl Harrell, who dominated the C's earlier this week with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Boston's interior defense must improve.
