Facebook to post Tom Brady behind-the-scenes documentary in January

Tom Brady and Gotham Chopra have worked together before. The quarterback helped produce (along with former Giants pass-rusher Michael Strahan) a television show called "Religion of Sports" that Chopra directed.

The two have become good friends, and it appears as though that relationship will lead to another production that will give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Brady's life away from the Patriots facilities at Gillette Stadium.

The New York Times reported on Tuesday that Chopra was "granted sweeping access to Brady in an array of intimate settings" for a documentary series called "Tom vs. Time," which will be posted on Facebook Watch (Facebook's mobile video platform) at some point in January.

"There is extensive footage of Brady at his Brookline, Mass., home," The Times writes, "with his children, with his wife, Gisele Bündchen, on family retreats to Costa Rica, on a bro-trip to Montana (with teammates Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola), on a summer tour of China with his son Jack, and in the car during Brady’s commute to and from work in Foxborough, Mass."

Times writer Mark Leibovich, who wrote a length piece on Brady for the New York Times magazine before the Patriots and Seahawks played Super Bowl XLIX, noted that it was "unclear" if Brady told Bill Belichick and the Patriots about "Tom vs. Time." Belichick is mostly absent from the portion of the series The Times saw, as is any discussion focued on player protests in the NFL, the Jimmy Garoppolo trade or Alex Guerrero. (Guerrero does show up on camera, The Times explained, mostly during "pliability treatments" with Brady.)

There is no set release date for the series, but it figures to be a must-watch for Patriots fans as Chopra seems to have been allowed very rare access to the future Hall of Fame quarterback. Chopra was a guest on Quick Slants the Podcast last year -- you can listen to that episode here -- following Super Bowl LI, where he discussed "Religion of Sports" and his relationship with Brady.
