“Drake Curse” claims another victim as Leafs lose to Bruins in Game 4

The Toronto Maple Leafs could have taken a 3-1 lead in their first-round Stanley Cup playoff series against the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night, but they fell victim to one of the most famous curses in sports.

Yes, we're talking about the Drake Curse.

Drake, the famous music star and proud Canadian, was in attendance at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto for Game 4 on Wednesday night, and that's when you knew the Leafs were facing an uphill climb.

The Leafs ultimately lost 6-4.

If you're not familiar with the so-called "Drake Curse," basically, most of the teams he supports, usually by wearing their jersey or taking a photo with an athlete, go on to lose an important game soon after. A quick Google search will bring up lots of results on this topic. Italian soccer team AS Roma even banned its players from taking selfies with Drake.

The Bruins-Leafs series is tied at two games apiece entering Friday night's Game 5 showdown in Boston. Leafs fans aren't likely to be ultra confident in their team's chances given its performance in Game 4 and Drake's insertion into the series. It's hard to blame them.
