-- some warning signs apparently courtesy of the Wall Street Journal 2010 scouting report of what Aaron Hernandez. Does he enjoys living on the edge of an acceptable behavior that he may be prone to party too much. Doing questionable things that could be seen as a problem. For him and his team. Given -- fair -- -- go into the draft prep career NFL network joins us now and wrote a lot of the talk around here is you know blame you know do you blame the Patriots for drafting this guy you're playing the Patriots forgiving in the extension which you fall. Or stop in the draft well and those little unnerving news first -- the multiple drug test that obviously a big part in font like he did the other part of course is the people he was hanging around with. In my Anderson is the -- never really advanced past the rumor stage there was that word out there but nobody can really get a handle on what he was involved in off the field. The other thing if you -- people who work for Urban Meyer of Florida. He was never he'd be around these situations and and their -- like -- where he wouldn't stick to one. But whenever there was a -- there was trouble. Air was there and -- could tell you what happened in -- could find a way to -- himself out of trouble so they're always been trouble around him. I know some teams had him off the board completely. You take that one risk in a vacuum I'm OK with that but if you look at that draft class they talk a whole bunch of -- whether it was -- back. Hernandez's issues spikes had issues and you look at it now. You know a lot of very good players out of that draft class -- guys can really perform for the Moffett field. Look at what were Hernandez's. You've got -- injured were issues have come back up. They got two guys and Cunningham spikes to a positive PV test the Brandon Deaderick who developed into a starlet and what character issues to. He's up the team in April so clearly you can see the risk reward that they took with that particular draft class Hernandez on that going to predict murder but if a million -- I don't have any idea got this guy is behavior would somehow find. The dopey idea that his behavior would land him off the football field at some point wasn't are passionate. Get the Patriots president valued the draft we've always talked about the good they've -- for the value in. And bills the -- gonna bring him in here he loves football gonna change him so OK now you draft the player. What -- -- extension. Because now you've got the player here in house. Since they've seen some of these things that they see some of these. And that's the issue is okay now you're doubling down on the rest part of the reason they were doing early that was the only way they were both brought an end that they waited longer. Both players the price may have gone up. And they would have risked losing one or the other having to pick between the two they doubled down on the rest. Know what I can tell you for for sure. Is that they -- did know that there were issues that this kid was working through when he moved to California in February. The reason why was to get him out here was a little -- of was to get them out of the end of the New England area he's all the trouble for him was right there Bristol Connecticut you never go back to 2010. When Dallas drafted Dez Bryant everybody's so well that's the one -- the kid trapped into close to home as it turns out that was the problem -- and he was way too close to his friends here. The Patriots knew there were serious issues going on earlier in the offseason they tried to help them. And it just sounds at this point he's my sense of it. This kid was too deep in -- they try to get him out of the area for a little while it didn't work when he got back here of course we know now the other troubles down. Now if that was back in February right that was after the extension Maria didn't post my -- is -- the double murder right that we don't really know much about right there he might be tied into. That was what July 12 camp was what a week or two later he just kind of shows up at the possibly allegedly maybe. Admitting that and induced -- -- of -- month later he gets his deal. And then it's in February were they know about the stuff. Well you know I don't know exactly I -- -- found out about all this stuff I -- that the news there were problems this offseason which is why he went to California. Now whether or not they knew there were -- happening last summer I can't tell you that I mean you can get on them a little bit. For and maybe not knowing their players well as they shut out. This isn't just any other putt and you can't follow all 61 players 53 plus the -- on the practice thought he can't follow them. You know every Friday night every Saturday night. But when you're bringing a guy who had a history like this like an Aaron Hernandez did and there was that history -- his -- and you knew you were taking a rest we drafted them. Yeah keep a little bit of a closer on a player like that and I think that this is one of those cases this didn't come out of nowhere. You wonder if they knew exactly what was going on back then now I know they knew this offseason that he had some issues. The question is did they know last summer and I don't know the answer to that. But they felt confident -- an extension in August now moving full. You look at this team and you guys all the numbers you suit on and now Celeste who through recent phone network and its. Pretty much 80% of the receptions 88% and everything right I've gone right on this team and we don't know how quick welcome me back. The importance of guys like but in Amendola -- so yeah Toledo is the health of two guys now -- right yet the health of gronkowski and healthy Amendola. Who also they have to throw the alternative you know you look at those two guys. Emmett -- was the guy's got to play in the slot note has workload gonna go up because Hernandez was taking its snaps in the slot you don't have -- and his -- slotting morsel Amendola. If your primary slot got his workload goes up -- stay healthy with a heavier workload and -- gronkowski is the one player. -- defenses have to game plan for right now -- defensive coordinator. There's one player in their passing game keeps you up at night. And that's Rob Gronkowski and so those two players Rob Gronkowski Danny Amendola both those guys have injury history it's key that they keep those two guys healthy. And you also wonder whether or not there's going to be a little bit of a shift philosophically where we start to see may be. Then become a little bit more like they were in their championship years where they rely on defense in the running game a little bit more club in -- line defense that a lot here early on especially. -- we appreciate it.
