Transcript
For it was a good piece of fiction can. People who know us know and no you know much we. Care about winning -- mean some sort of connection between. I'm marketing study and going after some. High price creation is so ludicrous that I don't know how to respond -- Pilots go right to the horses -- Dan Shaughnessy from the Boston Globe he wrote the book. With Terry Francona to which Tom Warner refers what's your immediate reaction man. From Juqua -- -- yes. I am waiting for some us specifics about. What's fictional in here I mean the 2000 World Series 2004 World Series championship that's not fiction all of Toms. Oscars or an Emmy Awards are not fiction and that's all in there it's 360 pages. I would like to specify and again this is their manager and general manager echoes these things. On the messenger here I understand it's more popular attack -- and you know knock ourselves out but. You know we have privacy and I was like he had you gotta come -- he was more than phone bill. Here -- and the funny thing too is can. What people want to attack you this is more Terry Francona these this is as told to you so when they go out there. The book is being fiction are they not saying that Terry Francona was line. Well -- -- again they need to be a little more specific that this it's it's good -- -- I understand they don't like -- I understand that you know but ice we stand behind what's in there. It's most of the eight years was good there's a lot of good stuff and it's a very funny book you learn a lot about managing in what was going on behind the scenes so. I think they should do at least time I give a lot of credit he admits he actually read the book because I -- number two in the New York Times best seller list and always read the book I can't. Kinda. Speeding up people who may or may not have read the book and Larry Lucchino. Said he hasn't but he wouldn't really say it to you would he because athlete's side yesterday he didn't really seem to want to answer your questions. That's going on act. Let's -- -- -- and I love Larry Lucchino made those points today I think he's one of the smartest guys in baseball is a lot of great things whose career and our respect that I mean he's he's better than he was yesterday I didn't understand that and again. You do you read the book and you don't like it or you didn't read it and you have to say about it I don't know how he's commenting on something that he didn't read that's that's still curious to me. Did you guys seem to have a longstanding quality relationship tonight dates back to when Theo Epstein was here you often. Had the side of management at the side of Larry Lucchino today it seemed as if there was an olive branch extended with your column in the -- was that tongue in Chico you. Really praising the work that he's done here. I write the truth Tom Karen and those are things that I believe I've -- Larry since 1979. I mean we were young people in Baltimore way back in the day. I just think that. As I tried to wrap up that column today that you know. My take is always been he's thick skins and that he can take a punch in and fight back and that's -- wanna see not the no comment.
