You watch on the -- cast right now you see the sticks and stones whether. Like to work from time to time hockey show we have last year we changed the name of it to cross check to collector's item now that sweater that is. Because it's a new name you know call a cross check. And we now Eric Thursdays at 930 and tonight is the debut. Edition that the the premiere of cross check. And it buried the league is the most important part. Of the new show on the new time is that he get them right there's a new improved go most of name's Mike Milbury who will be joining us. He has is officially called cross check with children Milbury. So he'll be with us every week starting tonight at 930 and double bonus. Gonna join us every Thursday on the radio. Before -- love it so that's the deal the eighteenth -- expert hotline and it's Mike Milbury I don't like I'm doing right by my. Doing great it's hockey season we got Bruins Montreal again we got a hockey show on cable I don't know what else can be better what was your take away from last night. It was ugly and I thought it was really ugly for two periods in the Bruins got a little boost from their coach. With a line changes in the -- magic capital got a little bit that little bit uglier and a little bit nastier I guess in the third period. But you know when you're on the road you're playing against that bodes well looks to be in new improved team. He takes you two point anyway you can get up so I think they got to be happy to come out of there particularly since they were minus -- minors Marchand and you know there was. It was it's a way as a road win in any road win of the good ones. Mike we were discussing that move by Claude Julien it's you know he doesn't do that a lot which maybe maybe you know might have given it more impact last night but I have always felt that he's a coach that. Doesn't do that quite enough. What do you think. You know it's. Two schools of thought I mean when Joseph Torre used to write up a lineup from New York Yankees he -- -- much change in the lineup they seem to do OK without but. Hockey is different animal and a the line combinations. You know -- can get guys that are familiar with a one another. For the long haul it's always easier if you there are some coaches that wanna do that all the time but there is no doubt. There when you make a line change like that particularly as you pointed out quote not doing it very often. It's sends -- that sends a message that he's not happy and that you better get your act together and and last night clearly worked. Mike what are your general impressions of him as a coach whose style do you like his style. I think he's made -- further is there in age I think he's. I think he's tough enough but I don't think you have to want to. I think he communicates well you know you talked you listen to him talk after the game he doesn't avoid the questions 9% of the time. You get a straight answer and that's what the players want this day and age they want a straight answer but don't wanna be. Berated screamed out and embarrass them and that's just not gonna cut the mustard these days and I think he's got it down to a TI that you -- in the top coaches in the league. Did you also the Mikey gets prodded by the front office TR and you know it Michael look different in your day with the Bruins it was certainly you know Harry. Had his style and it does feel like you know obviously Peter -- a different guy but Cam Neely is therein. I don't know if you just it's the same ownership and if you sort of go through the years they certainly have a habit of sticking their finger in there. And dumb I don't know do they -- -- and who can balance that that they've gotten. Yeah I I don't think he's a guy that's going to be intimidated by anybody at this point I think his. -- now speaks for itself and and and I know -- he's he's. Certainly gonna go in there and talk to people about certain certain things because he's not shy and I don't think -- either but. At this stage I would think their relationship baptists. This many years together -- should be able to say pretty much what's on your mind and and then feel free to do it without any kind of repercussions. I don't think that. In all -- little -- -- -- his office to be honest with I don't think that's the case were quote and Peter surely I think it's a different type type of relationship for a different era. Michael what do -- attribute Tyler Sagan struggles to before last night. -- Listen this kid has speed he's got a shot he's cut. He's got a tremendous skill set. He just got to get more involved all the time yes we want it more in certain areas and he's -- you've got to dig it out and and play a little bit more like for example Jonathan Toews and then that's where. I think he's improved some I think he has a ways to go. I think you have to be serious about. And and if he does well I think he is going to be certainly have the talent to be a tremendous player. The question is is we have the attitude is. Mike -- know what -- Iraq are hopping around here a little bit of that game last night Montreal dominated the first period and the game was scoreless. Rask I thought was terrific I don't know if you saw the Buffalo game two and there were a lot of odd man rushes they are. But at the same time -- was flop -- a little bit inactive what are your impressions of Rask. And is he the kind of guy you think that can take into account. He is he's going to be a number one goaltender in the week he had to distance disposition. Seems to have the intelligence. Seems to have enough athleticism to get it -- he made some great saves last night it's from series that he needed to. Be aware of the circumstances and anticipate moving. Look right to left and one particular instance I can't remember the period -- -- great absent in and he was right on top of it. And even when. Seidenberg some -- and it certainly kicked the puck back into him it looked like he was told me. I'm flustered by that there was no all my god here comes that was just just relaxed and had a little laugh with which Seidenberg afterwards and I thought boy that's a sign of a guy that's lose his cool that he needs to be as a goaltender out to anyone that -- I mean if I had the answer to that I mean I would still be general manager and so -- only. You can't you can't know that for certain but all signs point to a guy that's going to be. An outstanding number one goaltender Willie B a champion is for someone else to figure out.
