I don't wanna start Patriots and that that is a Wednesday things have to start to -- to Tony about the Roddy. He has a couple. He is now -- well what -- -- your present but from what I understand you think and as you think about this and develop your opinion. You feel the Patriots are a little bit of a -- dilemma here I do I think there were a little bit of the Dolan and -- tell you why because we all feel like they need help in the secondary true yeah. Okay and that is true even if they keep to leave correct I think they could use one more as if if if they kick to leave. I feel like they are a manageable piece away from really doing okay and when I think the Patriots are a dilemma here's what I mean Mike if you look at the way they've done business over the years. They don't exactly hit the free agent market and start throwing money around like crazy. Not era moll. And so you have Welker who's not. And you know we have to lead who's up. You can only franchise one of those guys right. There -- okay. Doesn't mean that if you wanna keep them both. You got paid somebody. Asked you gotta pay Welker. Or you have to pay to lead wise edible. They have the money because I'm not sure the wanna commit multi years to either one of those guys that's their problem that's why that to them problem that that Zambrano that's okay are right and that part of it is also legit. But I also look at it and say you know why. I don't know that I would be all that comfortable given Wes Welker more than two years tops and I. It didn't -- knocked -- of sure as hell not gonna give Aqib Talib more than one. So I look at data and say why weren't mentally more than one because he scares the hell lot of me I don't think you can rely on you -- majority piece from yesterday I do. You know -- even -- a part of a lot of it Mike. Just the tickets history into account. How do you know what you get with -- Really how do you know what you get. There is all types of off field stuff in the on field performance has deteriorated some mean you yourself said when they acquired him from Tampa bank. That if the guy could play -- -- would put up the off field issues. When a guy is only you'll put up the off field issues and not that this should be the be all and end all either. But I looked it up on pro football I'll focus and again it just once I felt. You don't quarterback rating was on passes thrown just believed that all year with Tampa or just knowing just a New England. On one. Old three point seven. And every once he did this great job against Andre Johnson in the divisional playoffs on the Johnson caught eight balls for 95 yards. Problem eleven times. So either they completed. 75% of the passes that record of one. And on top of that to lead clearly wasn't any sort of deterrent because they throw their eleven times. So the Houston Texans didn't think enough of them to have to take Andre Johnson out of their game plan much into league Sox. They think he's pretty decent. But I also think that the Patriots have been so deficient in the secondary. That we watch one guy whose technique is actually. Respectable and we say got to keep on. And then on the flip side I look at it -- Welker. And ice today. I don't try to get worried about those drops. I'm not gonna -- with Wes welcome more than a couple of years at this stage you wanna franchise him again finally get a feel the same way I'll take a one year deal. But Wes Welker started scare me here a little bit long term. In -- The more I think about it. And look at a whole landscape. I think are greasing the skids for welcome Mike I really don't I think they are greasing the skids form. I don't criminal error with a Brady last year Hernandez is gonna -- all they would Brady now they got -- -- tight -- on the roster and Ballard. That they picked up the mood and play the whole season that in theory could be a second tight end for them and Hernandez slides into the slot. The more you look at this and I'm not thing that would necessarily do with the same way it feels to me like that Wes Welker is not. To be a part of this you got to -- your deal. I think that ideally you would get out of this without franchising either one of them. Whether or not that's possible I don't know but ideally you'd have like both of these guys on two year deals. I would go more the moment to leave because of the way you can make it less of a hit in terms of cap space and how you can spend more money. But if you got to pick one. I'll pick until week regardless of some of -- you know he's not perfect he's not the best corner there is in the NFL office but he's better than anything else they have. And it's -- it's it's a tough position to find guys who can really play and he can. And do I think they could replace what wells walker provides them with no you can't fully replaced it could get close there maybe. I think there's a good shot coming close that I don't think there's a good shot finding someone closed -- -- how confident are we. In their ability to navigate those properly spent the money where they should spend it hold off where they should hold off. Reach into their pocket. Extend themselves financially. And get it right with our confidence level that they'll do this lol. Lol. And it's not just about the spending either the draft factors in too. Namely two positions where they have done more portly and defensive back and wide receiver. I think that's pretty much dead still and if -- -- when you -- all of this well. Again -- is dawning on Wednesday right. It's a dawn breaks over bubble head as the thing goes but when he went all of two positions that they're they've been terrible drafting. Neither does it necessarily wanna go too far into the future with the dribble the length of the contract to bulk up at the end of the year like. To me so this isn't a little bit and sure there.
