Chris Price and Kirk Minihane help Michael Felger sum up what the Super Bowl taught us
Little game called what did we learn. I just hurt my hand and as far as some WEEI what we learned that I was wrong again about another topic and it would be Joseph Flacco I think we learned -- Joseph Flacco. Obviously. He's good enough to win a championship even passing the ball not even as a side to -- player this wasn't Trent Dilfer. I and many others were wrong about Joseph Flacco we learned he's good enough you look at the numbers that he put together -- the post season and quite frankly you can stack him up against any other posted in the quarterback and into the post season it's hard to be better than. Montana back in 1989 who basically got three perfect games but Flacco came close completed almost 60% of passes. -- for almost 12100 yards eleven and twelve touchdowns no interceptions. In he got the job done with the money in the -- you know -- we need this. The other so clear what is he a leader not. It frankly I don't care like what's the difference the question is is he good enough Kirk to win a championship throwing the ball and the answers yet. We've arrived there yet doesn't matter if you -- stuff -- can say what you want Joseph Flacco can't win the Super Bowl he's beaten Tom Brady twice in the post season when a million post season games. He won the game last night in very large measure QB Joseph Flacco if you don't you -- your rank among the elite. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- It it doesn't he's plays well at this time a year and I think that's about the most important thing can say about anyone so. Scored for Joseph Flacco what did we learn Terkel are with you about Jim -- last night. -- not good not good down the stretch in that spot coached a shaky game that -- mean listen we we over rate these tactics sometimes on the sidelines. But he can you control yourself a little bit and you're a grown man to adult children -- parents I mean what -- race and home and I think his brother also coached. Now I don't know much about timing you know it this is the worst of his career until the best mom's -- career the same time. I don't know I thought he -- real shaky down the stretch now I think he's really coach I had my pick of any coach in league the next 56 years. I picked them first but it was not his best moment last night sitting up there complaining about the refereed two weeks after you get to gift in the NFC championship game in a similar situation. Is bad for -- I think there's no comparison that I thought though. Not PI against Atlanta was a good not call I think this was you know was much closer pacifiers. That in a bubble entering the week before but simply. What his team turn it over twice they were only two of six in the red zone. They lined up in a wrong formation on the first play of the game they jumped off sides to lead to a touched on the did so many things wrong. He's asked about it after the game becomes -- -- officials this week -- -- didn't -- got out of that Boozer thing that we got the guy who hasn't been on that because Steve before and it's just it's about excuse that situation what did we learn about Colin jeopardy -- I -- these perfect player -- I -- bad pick early I can believe that yeah. You know you might I love me they're not there yet those are you didn't seek power during that -- in the black outs and -- Dallas could not come out and -- field wake up. But you know this is a guy who I think you know you can take RG three could take lucky to take Wilson all these young guys. Patrick has to be in that next step up played really well last night brought it down the field getting her great pass down the stretch much -- much that's his fault wanna get burned Davison. But this is clearly one of these guys might be talking about Flacco he's one of these guys to this guy's gonna win championships and yeah I mean to me. I've learned what I thought before that he's a great player this is his first playoff here. This is Flacco is what fifth sixth playoff season so I mean. I guess Kemper got a couple playoff games under his belt but this you know his ultimate purposes rookie -- it's. And to watch him play two of fascinated by that read option in -- ability to operate out of the pistol it's such an understandable system right now. A wanna see if other teams can catch up with a who's going to be a lot of good news off the uniform. To see you put teams are going to be able to diagnose it and try to figure out here's one Chris what did we learn about the Patriots in last night's game the Patriots need a deep threat. You know you win and we're not gonna sit here and say that the Patriots offense is a world class at obviously one of the best league but a point for the best -- But as we saw last night. Will be playing -- Bolden -- solid and their ability to stretch the field we thought over the course here to with the Ravens ability to go to. The Patriots need that he could not so much fuel pressure put up big physical receiver who golfing get it someone likable than someone like to Dwayne Bowe. You've got guys to Brady and what do we think our. That's jumps on me to his old watching -- and this postseason that player does not existence itself and everything else. That's the one thing they're missing and he you know upset for the post season as the kind of guy I'd just grabbed. Easily these kind of -- be neat what you're what's important for in these kind of games of credit mark to be overturned on our radio show. Bill how much more and fighting in the playoffs they do the right here and we saw -- you know we just didn't all these games. It is much more hand to hand combat with receivers and quarterbacks so that's like a guy that's -- guy can pump open. You see his value in that -- could push off to a good defensive back and push off. And didn't we see a little bit now what happens Wes Welker in these games you get -- the playoffs the flags come out was. His skill set you know doesn't quite match up when it's an important point I still wanna put at the top my list -- needs for the Patriots fans are going defense defense defense defense is safety -- typically yet but -- and Ed Reed would be my dream one but the physical this is why Gradkowski so important because he translates into the post season.
