A look at every well welcome to another edition of celtics' -- he'd be -- Kyle Draper follow me on Twitter Kyle art Draper you can follow a stride lately. The Celtics insider where CS NNE got comments right BC SN and CS NNE dot com columnist rich Levine rich. Underscore the B guys -- jump right into it. Our first topic is comes from John Henry he wants to know. How much will Roger on Rondo injury rich heard his trade value in the future that the Celtics were to bring him into trade discussions what do you think about that. At the very least that hurts a little I mean we were near winner evaluating a trade out of -- we have 847. Year old guy who's just. You know had a normal grip for six years that's almost twenty year old guys is coming up ACL surgery. Of course is gonna affect I think. I I think personally you probably have to see him play again for any team's going to be clamoring to -- him but he thinks for a. You know what Rondo and any player who's coming off an injury you're trade value is relative to what other teams think of you with a -- -- you. Danny is not and you run away for nothing you know that. The only guy that he's really progressed -- pursued trade reports Chris Paul. Offers a -- and run straight back at its lowest. Beat right now because of the injury so maybe next year at this time with back to keep it left there off the court -- -- -- Once the -- Iraq. You know this team as well as anyone next nominee pat pat pat. Do you see taking up the slack from the bench players would be all this go to a lot of different guys have a good opportunity but the guy that I think has to take up that slack is Jason Terry. He's the one guy when you look at that bench. One he's familiar with playing a point guard position he's fifth all time in Hawks history in assists and you know he can run a team and he's the one guy but let's face it. He is not. We get it done. This is an opportunity to get to the spots where he can be effective had a chance to talk to him after practice and you know he was gonna give you about the opportunity that he's gonna get now to direct that team and in his opinion. The one of those guys that can deliver a clutch because as we know. Late in the game balls and run those hands and he's a facilitator but now I think Jason Terry is going to be one of the guys who's gonna get a chance to beat that guy who set up. -- also health really got that they brought in were supposed to be dispensed Terry. We and Jeff Green. I think I think we have a great opportunity right now and whether whether or not you know he's not a natural point guard -- and on this roster is but there are gonna have a testament to handle the ball I think him and give report together when it was when they're out there they can affect. Again defensively in ways that Jason Terry and then it was suffering some obvious sell little bit against Miami I don't know I don't mean who knows I don't know what exactly is going through his head. But if you can be even -- 80% of the guy in terms of intensity. And and focus that he was against Miami I think it will will see the difference. And I like Courtney Leah it and try we talked about this he's playing better. His three point shooting is better we know that so look for him to do some big things San Leandro Barbosa finally the lower maybe get some consistent minutes as well strive what are all the negative no -- Gonna say when the -- Are alive team in the playoffs they they get this thing together and get into the playoff. I think billions of the playoffs but as far as like making noise. I still see it happening I'm and I think they're gonna be one of the last teams to get into the playoffs simply because the schedule the way other teams that they -- -- play the second half the season. And most important they don't have the difference maker and when you look at that -- The guys they have Rondo is always the guy that was in the back pocket that. You know if we could. Few things -- and even. Got a -- -- is going to be -- expect -- to get this over any usually on most nights when you look at the that this started five Rondo had to clear advantage that was the one position where you fit right. We know we're better than most teams out yet. It says must lately and the point guard play in general I mean whether it's whether it's Jennings or holiday and these -- guys that -- you still think that Rondo. Is better than on paper about it it's it's been easy by any means that I think that depositions -- -- a lot. When you think -- paper and say you you think this Celtics team right now gets it I think I did they do -- if by some chance they make a run like they just they're first suggesting. I think you go back to it the last year and read it every -- written during that run you back to -- but it but it. In any event that it happens I'm predicting it helped -- the same thing you know we underestimated again at the heart of Kevin Garnett Paul -- content you can't underestimate it right there that. Those guys 36 and 35 to arrive at this kid is gonna make it though I think. Davey got a little bit yeah it was that anything like that we're talking about guys who should be coming off the bench in most situations because of their age 3536 year old guys -- not be the focal point of your resurgence. Those guys. Yeah -- and well as far as they got anything Parker not pleasant -- for instance -- got -- got a man and he'll come off the bench for the bulk of his career so yes. Doesn't have the same kind of way -- that Paul and Kevin. The Celtics. -- brass really do anything other to get to the well. Talk about everything else going on around the league specific. Likely guys injuries affecting the peace now Ron goes out Bynum says now after the all star break you -- If you're one of these teams that getting your your your star player back who who are you most looking forward to seeing who's gonna make that jump you think in the second half of the season well that the team that I think is gonna really make some of them some of those before his Indiana when they get Danny Granger bank and and not only because. Of greatest return but also. Less weak schedule I mean they they play more games at home the rest of the way than any other team in NBA. And you look at where this this season right now in the standings they've got the potential to go all the way up to that two spot and Indiana will all the pieces intact. Play good basketball they can be a very dangerous team come playoff time. Yeah I think I think it's Chicago if you think you've been given and use bats -- today completely. I guess I still think he easily with that. -- had the heat owner runs last year whenever they want to dams and make it they -- my best throw them a little bit but I think you forget that when the -- was healthy Chicago was legitimate contender. I would they have defensively they have two big guys. And who knows or is going to be like I think that the question mark if he is no 90% of what he -- of what it typically is. He's one of the he is. Is a top three point guard in the league and it takes on to a to another level where I think that there easily the number two team that in the conference and he may have trot I wrote a best supporting cast you think Derrick Rose I think he. He's got the best and the best coach to coach support. Thibodeau we've done and I'm we will tell me about -- commentator who their franchise player and still be relevant. In the conversation not just to go win their division with a with a top team in their conference in Chicago that -- back and. -- -- little better lately but every year in the playoffs he's -- isn't. I was out here in Atlanta -- -- the disappeared I'm I'm just glad about the playoff point. Yes I mean it's all I know is that bodies what he had nineteen at the TD garden I mean obviously that gets when he nineteen against the Celtics took out my -- At that time if he. If you can beat Carlos with a regular season Karros was in the playoffs. That's another story as a big time expect -- At the Lakers finally turned the corner I'm not -- -- as I guess I don't know the answer is I'm saying yes. The Lakers have turned the corner nice went over and they'd be -- see those -- two great wins if you're a Lakers fan. Again I. What they have they have what we're gonna come they got a seven game road trip where they let them what they -- Berkman. They've played they've played they've got a -- -- of something else and I they have to play my game today there -- -- Miami on Sunday after plans on some others I think. We would remind me when we reconvene we had a conversation that will be much more clear but. They've they're getting better and something clicked with -- I still don't trust the way I think the things he can go perfect for polite not to not the -- we all are again but I need to policy -- a better players coming up the banks which. I think I think he's he's holding did in my right there they're not -- -- and the guy I know that and I don't think definitely -- a -- and awareness and. All. Our injuries -- I will give the Lakers credit they are clearly playing better this start to look like the team that a lot of people and vision. I'm not quite ready I'm not I'm not quite ready to say they turned a corner and I say that because they've got a stretch. Seven the next night games are against -- to the team that a little it wherever you call. If they can do that stretch and there's still trending in the right direction he's got seven and I guess those type of team. At the worst she's she's six and three the sixth -- not though it's on the road. Which which is a good test them because opinions why are they just -- -- whether Lakers he had done when they're physically do it. Hostile crowd you'd have a better idea of when the straight plus and he also worth. He might also you know his outside ability is right we broke down the schedule the other day. I can see the Lakers scored on a nice eight game winning streak right now because. Which you just -- shorts on a row but. It's not lies and everything they have agents to be exactly guy like me right now closed when the facilitator and they're doing well obviously citizens whatever one obvious that they haven't lost. So what happens when -- plays that way and it was the first game and he's like OK then I got to go back to -- going right -- -- I think it's a matter of of trusting. What's best for them and that is not going to be perfect you know from from here to the playoffs -- to make it together on Wednesday not when it Reggie Raton for us the way. And I think I don't know gonna do everything he's gonna do and lightning tired enough Lakers -- Celtics fans have electric that the Lakers I don't think -- right rich surprise team for the second happy that I'm that it's hard to say it was a surprise after after receiving the first half the season but I like. Oh Philly and maybe make -- right the last -- depends on -- to Atlanta bound to have a great coach they have a point guards really come into his own Evan Turner. You know still puzzling ways to go he's legit divers who just -- -- can lock guys down who can score. I think it all comes together and Bynum is. There's not a 100% but if he can play I don't know if -- them with a I. Got a -- and as the longhorns Lilly's bid coaster ride you're doing it without their BA franchise got. Who -- absolutely but no I totally -- helmet and Celtics for that eighth spot they're getting and also that's something. Out of it this. -- that's the question now. My record yeah how does anyone that didn't play the prize there without the second best hitter named -- Angel and I and I -- -- -- very concerned about us apprised Steve I think he's going to be good governance the -- -- are -- the lease agreement. -- playoff -- and ultimately -- it once and the last twelve games they've got a very fair most of the ballot when he of their remaining 36 games at home. And they. Right on Oklahoma city's -- that division's not that I'm gonna win it but they've got the potential to move up in the six spot now where they're at and maybe third or fourth and Denver. Pretty damn good because you are not expected to be that -- you expect to be team just trying to get into the playoff with -- you've got an opportunity to get home court that first round and I mean that's I think that's -- you surprised about what we've been the go to guy and then her -- that. That's the part that's the problem that's -- -- -- but they're -- but you know what. You can still get by exempted aren't so evident enough and if I get is good -- well yeah I'd even give up don't put advancement direction not gonna do much there and Denver. It doesn't want to do and plus getting there and getting home court advantage that's the only shots you really have a moving on my surprise team quickly guys did Detroit Pistons I really like what they've been able to do this last month of the season. If I'm correct in the Eastern Conference they have but 100 top 123 best records since January 1 in the east to keep them though. Will Bates who now Lawrence Frank will his act one run run him up over there and it -- -- finally have an already. Maybe it just doing their own thing which is a good thing for the -- it's a -- exactly to -- better somewhat intrigued second act. -- Don't make some noise afforded behind Celtics and got us out of sat right hash it out -- times Iraq. Start with you showtime so at times so outside and one of them upsides if you can even call that with Rajon Rondo out is the fact that it gives a lot of guys an opportunity. To get the time and so they can do Courtney Lee. Jason Terry we as a -- this good times and I missed opportunities of the Jordan more than just a role -- that -- -- significant hire him. Impact player and if it's one of those guys to do that gives itself a chance not just get to the left maybe a little scare into a team and at first round. And at this point. I'll find out that's about the best you can expect -- -- sorry. Stuff through papers throughout the paper are we about it this thing I Sabres -- is that one of the -- run as a drill to another one of the negatives. Which is there is I don't know I think there's an opportunity to separate -- right now you had every start the season late. He had run a good out now other than that here's Digi green Terry Lee and sellinger. And best they have missed one game. -- has been perfect. And -- it starts and those are the off right now I you know that they just don't they just don't have enough out of the main -- I have my hash it out his blow it up how many times have we heard that over dramatic blow -- the question mark you know what. Maybe it it is time to blow it up but the problem is appear -- Celtics and appeared Danny -- with his blowing it up really mean it. -- the ball here and get ready Kevin Garnett and if you do get rid of those guys. It's not put a healthy teeth in the short term just what is it you back a number of years as though this -- put up talk -- Thought the Celtics to go that route and I'm hoping she'd go that route guys but. Look at it maybe they pick yourself like a lottery pick and a year and is nothing more. Yeah so -- unaware starts to the Celtics. They have no answers right right it's not a rule that you got. We really because what it's like you're not gonna get a lottery pick from anybody you -- people all Pistons teams they don't view -- in Atlanta and also the player but as giving you a top ten pick for a guy who's. You know basically on the tail end of his career it's not gonna happen. The -- doesn't have to play this thing out with the guys they guy and hope that somebody can have a career type season because remember when you look at teams here -- year out they go deep into the playoffs and surprise people. There's always that one -- two guys. Who has one of those career type season and the Celtics if anything got the -- career worst season that's why they're in the position at the reasonable for the run. Yeah and I know it's hard when you're not competing fertile and that's what we're used to here but. You know maybe it's just I'm exited to take a step back and enjoy Paul Pierce and Garnett -- -- I would digits are we still most of yeah -- well. Always going to let my offense to decide today -- entitled to know okay so just like it's ever suffered an effort to -- you think you said there's no answer right now. That they don't know what to do so and that's the worst place you could be okay so we got to top one MBA player all time ago Paul Pierce one of the top five results of all time. Just appreciate the fact that there's a plan they're doing well you know if they don't win the title they're not supposed to win the close it sells all fine and dandy reach the Celtics nation not hot and out around OK okay and threw it today I thought the players. You guys know them that they want I think that they understand that is not the case and any sort. Working hard he's not content to sit the be mediocre and he's he's -- whatever hours a day to make it better. In the meantime you know that it didn't totally know what Republicans are it is a miserable. We got to -- guys on the street followed so -- on Twitter throughout BCS and rich underscored to me Kyle hard Draper and hitters up using -- -- Celtics talk. We'll see you next week on Celtics talked.
