Transcript
-- we're getting very close to hockey it was like what the -- -- your game on Sunday on Saturday. Bruins play the New York Rangers so let's box -- -- before into the Eastern Conference double the northeast division this thing is going to be interesting. Up Jersey. Teams have loaded up with -- in the division to think they're sick of getting the crap kicked out of themselves by the Bruins. I Steve Ott was one of the biggest wrapped -- in the entire league who many Bruins -- have a history with. Has gone to Buffalo Buffalo also -- John Scott who might actually be bigger than Zdeno Chara if that's possible on target -- prostitute tied for the lead league in fighting majors -- or Shawn Thornton. So the division has beefed up they beefed up to come to the Bruins and we see a lot of fights early this. While two of the teams have beefed up the other two Ottawa and Toronto really haven't in fact they've gone the other way a little bit so. Buffalo no question and they they needed just. Address a few things they think that they've got plenty of players who are kind of smaller. -- skilled type of guys. You know they -- Collette on their teammates up Cody McCormick on the team but they bring in a lot but it and shots -- is a big guy I don't know how much he plays Mike -- really on how much you put I don't know if that's why but. -- there is a guy -- -- that you know a Bruins fans know him very well from the things that he did with Dallas and he's a guy that we'll stick his nose in their -- -- mentally dropped the gloves that much probably not. But that's not what they got they wanted to know little sand paper Buffalo's. To go around a lot of the skill that they have -- Buffalo. You know get into the playoffs this year -- that still depends on the goaltender Ryan Miller how well he plays -- -- Montreal they were. Beautifully blissfully at the bottom of the league last year big changes in terms of coaching and GM's -- still and signed the case of bad right now still. Still unsigned as of tonight so. What -- let's not look like much. While mark version -- as a rookie general manager he -- kind of -- -- Steve there with the Chicago Blackhawks but pretty highly regarded and he's gonna ever work cut out for me are Montreal. Kind of a changeover up there they still have a good goaltender in there Carey Price. Well they have a good defense of Markoff stays healthy and get you been in the mix yes they have the potential to be a pretty. Solid mobile defense unit upfront you know this is still kind of a work in progress but they've got some holes to fill but it's it's not -- that that. Always play them permission to always put the Bruins -- so not only management. Changes. Full management change not only GM before management changes. Change behind the bench in the coach. On new assistant coaches who it's it's a real transition for the Canadians -- you finished last place up there you kind of expects major changes they did it take Eastern Conference feels like. Rangers Pittsburgh of course Philadelphia's still in the Bruins feel like. The fourteenth of let's talk about yeah I put the flyers as a step below just most of because of their goaltending and Bryzgalov you just don't know what you're gonna get -- does that change going into the season who knows and defensively and not a 100% sure where they're at that bunker out yep Pronger is out they made a hard sell it at. That Webber and didn't get a natural match that opera that shows you how much they wanna Webber because problems out so. Philadelphia definitely has the grit and the offense and things like that you couldn't put it all together they did against Pittsburgh -- that frustrated but. Pittsburgh Rangers lost in no particular order. Are the teams that. -- that most people fuel finish at the top OK if that's a tough division by the way up Pittsburgh Rangers flyers Devils that nobody is talking about -- to the finals lecture given health yet all I still like Pittsburgh on top of their but Sidney Crosby with the concussions and notes on that. -- They hit huge problems at the back and in that playoff series against Philly last year. I'll Marc-Andre Fleury was horrible in back -- it in that series and their defense in general it took a big step back so does Pittsburgh have up. You know our goals against. And there are -- yeah and the Rangers. We're going to be playing them quite a few times beefed up in that department obviously with Rick Nash added to their lineup. The Rangers have a lot of good things with with the block shots in the way they've played hard place they've got to grit. Now they had some goals going into a tough act to help with Nichols scored. And Pittsburgh will have their work cut out for them against that type of lineup but Pittsburgh is stacked I like Pittsburgh do they learn from what happened last year against the flyers -- really frustrated them. You know physical just in your face kind of series -- from the drop of the puck that was what I mean that was it entertaining hockey where what what gives us we expect the intensity level that you do they in the playoffs but the goals that were being scored those were those games were were 65 games quickly did you see this image of the night as anything to worry about the goaltending with eleven goals scored between. And that's. It wasn't good hit that goes without saying yes I did some scrimmage but it's surely it's so it is hard time I don't take anything out of that. Other than maybe just a couple early signs but that there's some work to be done I think a lot of teams are probably going through that right now. You know. Talked to me after the Rangers game on Saturday night at the Rangers put up six against them -- of -- talk about.
