NBA rumors: Lakers ‘low on hope' Pelicans will engage with Anthony Davis trade offer before deadline

The Lakers are running out of time to make a deal for Anthony Davis, and they're getting pessimistic about their chances.

L.A.'s final offer reportedly would send Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Ivica Zubac, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and two first-round draft picks to New Orleans for Davis and Solomon Hill. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Pelicans general manager Dell Demps didn't discuss the offer with Lakers president Magic Johnson on Wednesday, and that has the Lakers feeling "low on hope" a deal will get done before Thursday's deadline.

After making their final offer, the Lakers pulled out of further trade talks due to the Pelicans' "outrageous" trade requests. Unless the two sides reconcile and pull the trigger on a last-minute deal, the door is wide open for the Celtics to offer a major package for Davis this summer.
