Yairo Muñoz made history Wednesday night with Triple-A Worcester.
The 26-year-old utility man extended his hit streak to 26 games, breaking Jacoby Ellsbury's record for the longest such streak in Red Sox Triple-A history. He accomplished the feat with an RBI single in the third inning vs. the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Tomase: Red Sox need mental toughness now more than ever
Muñoz entered Wednesday's action slashing .303/.333/.436 with 22 extra-base hits, five home runs, 28 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 67 games with Worcester. The Dominican Republic native is making a strong case to return to the big leagues, where he hit .333 in 12 games last year before suffering a season-ending back injury.
He'll look to make it 27 straight games with a hit when the WooSox face the RailRiders on Thursday night.
