Three Americans were competing in the qualifiers and all three Americans advanced to the finals in men’s shot put on Tuesday at the Tokyo Olympics.

Ryan Crouser, Joe Kovacs and Payton Otterdahl all ranked in the top 12 competitors in qualifiers of the shot put.

Crouser, who holds the Olympic and World record and is the favorite to win, threw it the farthest in the prelim round of the event. He outhrew the next closest shot putter by 0.56 meters, ending the day with a throw of 22.05 meters. To put in perspective just how much better that is, the best throws of No. 2 through No. 12 were separated by 0.59.

Kovacs and Otterdahl both snuck in with the 11th and 12th spots, respectively. Kovacs finished with a best throw of 20.93 while Otterdahl was right behind him with 20.90.

The three are competing in the finals, which will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 4 at 10:05 p.m. ET. It can be streamed here:
