Former Patriots S Lawyer Milloy almost played baseball instead of football

Lawyer Milloy had a 15 year NFL career, including seven seasons with the Patriots, helping them win their first ever Super Bowl title in 2001. But it turns out Milloy almost never played football at all.

In an interview with WBZ Boston Sports, Milloy weighed in on a number of topics:

"I actually played football and baseball at the University of Washington right here, but I'm a big Red Sox fan also, because of my years out in Boston, and they're the World Champs."

Milloy, who was drafted twice in the MLB, said he chose football over baseball because "I couldn't hit a curveball. I could hit people, but not a curveball."

Milloy was certainly good at "hitting people."

In his six seasons with the Patriots, Milloy made 538 solo tackles, and never missed a game, according to Pro Football Reference.

The interview is worth a listen:
