Report: Patriots host WR Jaylen Smith, CB D.J. Daniel for workouts

The New England Patriots hosted two players, wide receiver Jaylen Smith and cornerback D.J. Daniel, for workouts on Wednesday, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Daniel played at the University of Georgia in 2019 and 2020. He signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars over the summer but did not make their final 53-man roster before Week 1.

Smith is listed at 6-foot-2 and 227 pounds. He was most recently a member of the Seattle Seahawks practice squad. He played four years at the University of Louisville from 2015 through 2018.

Neither Daniel nor Smith have appeared in a regular season NFL game.

The Patriots play the Miami Dolphins on the road Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET.
