Tiger Woods, the former No. 1 golfer in the world, who hasn't played on the PGA Tour since Feb. 5, announced on his website that he will be play in the Masters next weekend.

"I'm playing in the Masters. It's obviously very important to me, and I want to be there," Woods said on his site, tigerwoods.com. "I've worked a lot on my game and I'm looking forward to competing. I'm excited to get to Augusta and I appreciate everyone's support."

Woods withdrew with back problems after playing only 11 holes in the Farmers Insurance Open on Feb. 5, a week after missing the cut at the Phoenix Open.

He has been practicing at Augusta National Golf Club, the Golf Channel reported.
