The whirlwind tour for Billerica, Mass. native Marc McLaughlin is about to hit another level.

The Boston College center, who represented Team USA at the Beijing Olympics earlier this year, is turning pro right in his own back yard. Following the conclusion of the Eagles' season after a loss to Northeastern in the Hockey East tournament this week, McLaughlin signed a two-year entry-level contract with his hometown Boston Bruins.

McLaughlin, a senior at BC, was free to sign with any team after going undrafted in 2018, the year he was draft eligible.

Over four seasons for the Eagles, the 6-foot-0, 202-pound McLaughlin had 40 goals and 36 assists for 76 points, including 21-11--32 totals in 33 games this season. McLaughlin served as a captain in each of the last two seasons for BC.

McLaughlin appeared in two games for the U.S. men's national team in Beijing in February without registering any points for the fifth-place Americans.
