Watch Red Sox' Michael Chavis stay in shape by destroying a Wiffle ball

Miss baseball? So does Michael Chavis.

But the Red Sox infielder is still getting his swings in while staying home.

He's not missing many Wiffle balls. Take a look:

Chavis sends one over the Green Monster (a.k.a. hedges) and what, in his neighborhood, passes for Landsdowne Street onto the opposite sidewalk.

With even the Red Sox logo maintaining its social distance (see below), let's hope Chavis stays six feet away from passers-by as he retrieves his blast.

The 24-year-old was hoping to be in Toronto with his teammates for Opening Day on Thursday, but that's not going to happen with Major League Baseball, like the rest of the sports world, on hold due to the coronavirus crisis.

Chavis is slated to be the Red Sox second baseman after his solid rookie season (.254, 18 homers, 58 RBI, .766 OPS) in 2019 was cut short by injuries.
