Twitter couldn't resist comparing LSU QB Joe Burrow to Patriots' Tom Brady

If you checked out Twitter during the College Football Playoff National Championship Game between LSU and Clemson, you probably saw quite a few tweets comparing Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The LSU quarterback led the Tigers to a national title with a 42-25 win in New Orleans on Monday night. Burrow threw for 463 yards with five touchdowns and zero interceptions. It was a fitting way for his historic 2019 season to end.

Burrow will be the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft unless the Cincinnati Bengals, who own the top pick, decide to go in a different direction. Given the Bengals' need for a franchise quarterback, Burrow is the perfect player to rebuild their team around. Burrow isn't just the consensus No. 1 pick, he's also receiving plenty of Brady comparisons. Whether it's his throwing accuracy, calmness under pressure or remarkable ability to win games, the LSU quarterback has been compared to Brady more than any other college football player in recent memory.

Brady is the best QB in NFL history and likely the best player (regardless of position) in pro football history. He's won a record six Super Bowl titles and owns many records. It's ridiculous to compare any college player to Brady, but in fairness, Burrow really is a special talent. These comparisons aren't new, either. Burrow had been compared to Brady throughout the season.

Here's a roundup of notable comparisons of Burrow and Brady from Monday night's national title game.
