NBA rumors: Heat remain a possible destination for Chris Paul

The Thunder and Rockets set the NBA world ablaze Thursday night when they pulled the trigger on a deal that sent Russell Westbrook to Houston and Chris Paul to Oklahoma City.

Paul's stay in OKC might be brief, however, as Houston reportedly had hoped to find a third-team destination for him to take his three-year, $124 million contract. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Miami Heat remain a possible destination for the 34-year-old.

Paul’s agent, Leon Rose, soon will speak with Thunder general manager Sam Presti to discuss "what's next" for Paul, per Sam Amick of The Athletic.

It remains to be seen whether OKC will ship Paul to the Eastern Conference. Even if that does happen, the Celtics still would be thankful it's Paul taking his talents to South Beach rather than Westbrook.
