Durant to return from injury, could play Sunday vs. C's

The Boston Celtics have blown out the Brooklyn Nets in their last two meetings, but they might have their work cut out for them in Sunday's showdown.

The Nets have announced Durant will return from his sprained MCL and play Thursday vs. the Miami Heat. That means the C's can expect to see the superstar forward when they host Brooklyn on Sunday night.

Forsberg: Keys to Celtics sustaining success without Brown

Durant has been sidelined with the injury since Jan. 15. The Nets have gone 6-16 in that span and fallen to eighth in the Eastern Conference standings. Boston beat Brooklyn by 35 on Feb. 8 and by 23 on Feb. 24.

The Celtics can expect a tougher matchup next time around, especially if Jaylen Brown remains sidelined. The 25-year-old suffered a right ankle sprain during the team's Tuesday win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Before focusing on Durant and the Nets, the C's will host Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday night.
