Tatum, C's teammates celebrated their rout of Kings in weight room

Boston Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown did some heavy lifting both on and off the court Tuesday night.

Their figurative heavy lifting came in the form of 66 combined points (36 for Tatum, 30 for Brown) in the Celtics' 128-75 dismantling of the Sacramento Kings at TD Garden. Tatum and Brown scored 44 of those 66 points in the first half, playing just 10 minutes apiece in the third quarter before giving way to the backups for the rest of the game.

Boston's blowout win gave its regulars some well-earned rest down the stretch -- but apparently they had a bit more steam to blow off.

Tatum shared a Snapchat video late Tuesday night of he, Brown, Josh Richardson and Grant Williams getting in a postgame lifting session at the TD Garden weight room.

It's not uncommon for NBA players to lift weights before and/or after games, especially if their playing time is limited. (Semi Ojeleye practically lived in the weight room during his Celtics tenure.) But this was still a cool behind-the-scenes look at some postgame team bonding that Richardson had a little fun with during his press conference.

"I'm stronger than Jayson, but I was impressed with his performance in the weight room after the game too," Richardson deadpanned. "I think he carried over his intensity from the game to the weight room, for sure."

Tatum now has 87 points in his last two games, so whatever routine he's doing seems to be working. The Celtics have two days off to rest their muscles before hosting the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.
