ASG MVP ODDS

The favorite -- no surprise -- is Shohei Ohtani (+300), who will lead-off for the American League and then take the mound as the starting pitcher. Fernando Tatis Jr. (+350), Vlad Guerrero Jr. (+500), Aaron Judge (+600) and Nolan Arenado (+700) round out the top five. Xander Bogaerts checks in tied for the ninth-best odds at +1000. Rafael Devers is tied for 12th at +1500. The last Red Sox player to win All-Star Game MVP was J.D. Drew back in 2008.

ODDS TO HIT HOME RUN

Bogaerts is +900 to hit a home run. We already know that he's hitting third in the lineup and will be facing Max Scherzer in the first inning.  Bogaerts' regular season numbers are not exactly favorable against Scherzer, going just 2-for-11 over his career with five strikeouts. Devers checks in with slightly better odds to go deep at +725. Devers went 0-for-3 against Scherzer in 2018 and then 1-for-3 with an RBI double in 2020. The Sox third baseman is hitting fifth, so there's a chance he could face the Nationals ace in the first inning, if not the 2nd inning assuming Scherzer is still pitching. Ohtani has the best odds to leave the yard at +445, followed by Judge at +525.

ODDS FOR THE GAME

The National League enters tonight as slight favorites at -121 to win, with the American League checking in at +100. The AL has won seven straight.  As for the total, the number is 11 with the over at -115 and the under at -105. Looking at the last ten matchups, only once have the two teams totaled more than 8 runs in a game -- an 8-6 win for the AL in 2018.
