Scal: Tough to manage veterans' minutes

The Celtics are coming off a tough loss in Houston, and now face a very tough Spurs team. The C's have back-to-back games but then have three days off, so what does a coach like Doc Rivers do about managing the minutes of his veteran players?

"It's probably the most difficult thing to do when you have a veteran team," said Brian Scalabrine.

He says it's hard enough to manage an NBA game, but to then deal with limits on players makes it even tougher.

One thing Rivers always tries to do is think about the long-term implications. So if there's a situation Saturday night that might jeopardize the availability of his veterans down the road, you can bet Rivers will take the more cautious approach.

Paul George takes to Twitter to explain moving truck

Paul George takes to Twitter to explain moving truck

The internet went crazy on Friday when a fan posted an image of what appeared to be moving trucks outside of Paul George’s house.

While the Pacers star could eventually be on the move this summer via trade, he took to Twitter to explain why the trucks don't necessarily mean he's moving right now.

The Celtics held trade talks for George on during the NBA Draft, but could not complete a deal.

MORE:

According to Marc Stein of ESPN, the Cavaliers, Pacers and Nuggets have reportedly discussed a three-way deal that would send Paul George to Cleveland and Kevin Love to Denver.

The deal is similar to the one Brian Scalabrine proposed during draft night that involved the Celtics, Cavaliers and Pacers.

WNBA: Christmas-Kelly, Wings win fourth straight, 96-82 over Sun

ARLINGTON, Texas - Karima Christmas-Kelly scored 24 points and the Dallas Wings beat the Connecticut Sun 96-82 Sunday for their fourth win in a row.

Theresa Plaisance added 16 points while Skylar Diggins-Smith had 15 points and nine assists for Dallas (8-8).

Christmas-Kelly hit two free throws and then a 3-pointer to make it 15-10 and the Wings led the rest of the way. They took a 10-point led into the break and, after Alyssa Thomas grabbed a rebound and took it coast-to-coast to pull the Sun within two, Dallas used a 10-0 run over the next 2:06 to make it 70-58 with 54 seconds left in the third quarter.

Connecticut (6-6) trimmed its deficit to 70-65 on a 3-pointer by Shekinna Stricklen with 9:11 to play, but got no closer and went more than 3 1/2 minutes without a made field goal as the Wings led by double figures after Plaisance hit a 3 to make it 80-70 with 6:26 remaining.

Thomas had 19 points and Jonquel Jones added 14 and 12 rebounds for the Sun, who had their five-game win streak snapped.
