Rondo, Green wear sneakers for breast cancer awareness

MIAMI -- Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green put their best foot forward in the battle against breast cancer on Opening Night wearing the Nike Air Foamposite One in a polarized pink colorway.

Both players are signed with Nike and have made statements with neon-colored kicks in the preseason. They decided to send another message in the first game of the regular season.

Rondo and Green decided to wear the sneakers together on Monday. Rondo had already received the shoes and Green had his own pair overnighted to Miami in time for Tuesday's game against the Heat.

"I have a couple friends who have cancer," Green told CSNNE.com. "This was my way of showing I support them and raise awareness toward it."

Both players wanted to take advantage of their only game during Breast Cancer Awareness month to sport the sneakers.

"With the platform that we have with this game, I wanted to use the opportunity to do that," said Green.
