Coming off a 3-0 loss to Chivas USA on Saturday night, the New England Revolution realize theyll be in another physical battle this weekend when they host the Colorado Rapids on Saturday at Gillette Stadium.
Entering the game, New England (2-3-3) is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, while Colorado (4-3-1) is in second place in the Western Conference, and only two points out of first place, behind the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Thats one of their strengths is their physicality, and the way they tackle and get into people, said Revs captain Shalrie Joseph. Its very important that we come out ready to play because we know its going to be a physical battle. We have to match their intensity.
The Revolution last won an MLS match on April 23. It was a 3-2 win over Sporting Kansas City.
But whats in the past is in the past, and New England is looking to prove that on Saturday night, when they try to quickly put their latest defeat -- against Chivas USA -- in the rearview mirror.
Thats the good thing about this team, said Joseph. We have a great mentality that we leave the last game behind us. Whether we win or lose, we try to look forward to the next one, so we have to leave what happened in LA behind us and try to move forward. We have a huge game against Colorado on Saturday and we have to get three points.
