BOSTONRic Flair has been a presence in the Sox clubhousefor much of this season. One of the professionalwresting legends autographed robes hangs above the adjacent lockers of DustinPedroia and Josh Reddick, along with a replica championship belt. Pedroia has invoked Flairs name, personality, and patented whoop many times. But Tuesday afternoon the real thing was there. When Flair entered the Sox clubhouse, Pedroia looked up, thesurprise obvious on his face, rendering the loquacious Pedroia almostspeechless. Flair stayed in the clubhouse for several minutes, takingpictures, shaking hands. He left Pedroia with one of his authentic championshipbelts, which several players tried on.Oh my goodness, its heavier than i am, Reddick said. I weigh180 pounds. Its got its own case, good God. Its not the cheap plastic replicathat weve seen above our lockers but that one doesnt even compare.Reddick -- who said he can now die happy -- acknowledged he was inawe.Yeah, definitely, he said. Hes done so much for the entertainmentindustry in that kind of way just being a champion as much as he has been. Allthe showboating that we see from him, and I guess you could say the flair thathe brings, no pun, just the kind of attitude that he brings into the game. Itsjust great to watch because he does a lot of good for kids growing up, that I guessyou could say had that dream of doing it. Im 24 years old and Im still like a5-year-old kid.Perhaps the best thing about Flairs visit to the clubhouse, though, was lightening the mood of the teams 5-14 September.Yeah, I think it does, Reddick said. We all know wevehad a rough month. But anything to take that kind of weight off of ourshoulders. It could help us out a lot. I think that did a lot of good for the wholeteam, not just me and Pedey. We might not lose a game now, said Pedroia.Maureen Mullen is on Twitter at http:twitter.commaureenamullen.
