Ryan Lavarnway was pulled from Pawtucket's game against Columbus in the seventh inning Wednesday night and, according to WEEI.com's Alex Speier, may be recalled to the Red Sox.
Three Boston regulars -- David Ortiz (bursitis), Kevin Youkilis (back) and Marco Scutaro (back) -- are suffering from various injuries. Lavarnway, who is hitting .301 with 16 home runs, 47 RBI, a .385 on-base percentage and a .608 slugging percentage in 55 games at Pawtucket, could provide a boost to the offensively struggling Sox.
In 110 total games this year (55 at Portland and 55 at Pawtucket), Lavarnway has 30 homers and 85 RBI.
