Report: Crawford's trade report innaccurate

A Red Sox source denied an article in the Chicago Tribune which said the Red Sox inserted a clause in Carl Crawford's contract that would prevent him from being traded to the Yankees if they dealt him to another team. The denial was reported by WEEI.com's Alex Speier. The Red Sox reportedly have the right to select 28 clubs to whom he can be traded to without consent, but Crawford does have the right to eliminate two of those team. The history does prove however that when the Red Sox have this option they tend to choose the Yankees. The Red Sox rarely ever discuss deals with the Yankees and the last deal between the two teams was in 1997 when the Sox sent Mike Stanely to the Yankees for Tony Armas Jr. and Jim Mecir.
