McDonough, Garciaparra join ESPN broadcasts

Former Red Sox play-by-play announcer Sean McDonough and ex-Sox shortstop Nomar Garciaparra will play key roles on ESPN's baseball broadcasts this season.

McDonough, who worked on Sox broadcasts from 1988 to 2004, has been named play-by-play announcer on the network's Monday night broadcasts. His analysts will be ex-big leaguers Aaron Boone and Rick Sutcliffe.

Dan Shulman, last year's Monday night announcer, will replace Jon Miller on the Sunday night broadcasts.

Garciaparra will be an analyst on Wednesday nights. The play-by-play annnouncer will be Dave O'Brien, who works the Red Sox radio broadcasts on the other days of the week.
