Game Story: Indians take down Sox late, 9-6

BOSTON -- It had been three months since Daniel Bard last allowed a run. Monday night, the law of averages -- and once again, Asdrubal Cabrera -- caught up with him.

Bard allowed a two-run home run to right field to Cabrera as the Cleveland Indians twice erased deficits and overtook the Red Sox, 9-6.

Bard had carried a scoreless streak of 26 13 innings, a franchise record, into the game, having not been scored upon since May 23 when Cabrera smacked a run-scoring double off him in Cleveland. Bard was later charged with another run with Randy Williams gave up an inherited runner.

The Red Sox had taken a 3-1 lead after three innings on a run-scoring single by Marco Scutaro, a triple from Kevin Youkilis and a solo homer from Carl Crawford, but starter John Lackey, who earned his first no-decision of the year, was tagged for three runs in the top of the sixth.
