BOSTON Right-hander Clay Buchholz, on the disabled list since June 17 with a lower back strain, is scheduled to visit Dr. Craig Brigham in Charlotte, NC, this week for a second opinion.

Clay spoke to Sox medical director Dr. Tom Gill and were going to arrange for him to get another opinion with Dr. Brigham in Carolina, manager Terry Francona said.Hes a friend of Toms and a real well thought-of guy. I actually saw him a couple of years ago myself. Hes done a lot of stuff in the NFL and well get Buchholz down there this week.

It just hurts when he does certain things pitching. Hes moving around so well other than that. When we send him out there we want him to know even if it hurts, hes not hurting himself.
