WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Defenseman Andrew Ference (lower body) and forwards Daniel Paille (upper body) and Benoit Pouliot (lower body) were all missing from Wednesday's Bruins practice at Ristuccia Arena.

And even though Ference and Paille both skated before the team's 35-minute session, Claude Julien still termed them as doubtful for Thursday's game against the Buffalo Sabres.

"Well they skated for the first time today, on their own, so that's a good sign," said Julien. "They're still, again, day-to-day, which I would say doubtful for tomorrow. Unless something miraculous happens in the next 24 hours. But, they're obviously getting better. And we don't anticipate them being out too long."

Julien also called Pouliot day-to-day, but didn't rule him out for Thursday's game.

"He's day-to-day," said Julien. "We kept him off the ice today. Again, it's more of the precaution part of it. We'll see how he feels tomorrow, and make a decision based on whether he's feeling good, better, or whether he can go or not."
