The Patriots have released Marcus Stroud, according to Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald.

The 33-year-old defensive tackle signed with the Patriots in March. The news came shortly after the acquisition of defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.

From ProFootballTalk:

Stroud apparently isnt completely healthy: Stroud had shoulder surgery in January that he had described as minor, but Rapoport reports that his shoulder has not healed six months later.

Stroud made 49 tackles and three sacks through 15 games with the Buffalo Bills in 2010 and is a three-time All-Pro player.
