Pats-Jets pregame: Smith out for New York

FOXBORO -- The Jets will be without Brad Smith, their leading kick returner and a key part of their Wildcat offense, for today's game against the Patriots.

Smith, who is suffering from a groin injury and was listed as questionable in Friday's injury report, heads the list of Jets inactives, which includes FB John Conner, DE Vernon Gholston, DT Jarron Gilbert, DT Jarron Gilbert TE Matt Mulligan, TE Jeff Cumberland and DT Marcus Dixon. Kellen Clemens is the third quarterback.

No surprises on the Patriots' list of inactives: RB Fred Taylor, DL Myron Pryor, OL Rich Ohrnberger, T Mark LeVoir, WR Taylor Price, RB ThomasClayton, CB Tony Carter, LB and Marques Murrell.
