Pats cut Dearth, Maneri; sign long snapper Aiken

The Patriots released long snapper James Dearth and offensive lineman Steve Maneri today.And while their big-name signing on Sunday came in the form of Brian Waters, they also picked up long snapper Danny Aiken, who was cut by the Buffalo Bills.Aiken is a 6-foot-4, 250-pound rookie out of Virginia. The Patriots signed Dearth just last week to take over long snapping duties for Matt Katula, who was cut after the Patriots' ugly preseason defeat in Detroit.
Maneri was a fixture on the Patriots practice squad last season.
