The Patriots made another acquisition today, and surprisingly enough it's not a defensive lineman. But it's close.

The Pats signed veteran linebacker and special teamer Niko Koutouvides.

Koutouvides, 6-2, 238 pounds has been in the NFL for seven seasons, being drafted by the Seahawks as a fourth round pick in 2004 out of Purdue. He played four seasons for Seatte, then signed with Denver as an unrestricted free agent in 2008. After that season, he was released, and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2009 offseason.

Koutouvides has registered 101 special teams tackles and 54 total tackles on defense in 103 games. He has postseason experience as well, playing in eight games including Super Bowl XL.
