The Patriots have re-signed restricted free agent running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

Green-Ellis originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He started in 11 games last season and played in all of them, finishing with 1,008 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns.

In addition to signing Green-Ellis, the Patriots signed unrestricted free agent Chris Morris, veteran free agent Jonathan Compas, and undrafted free agent Richard Medlin.

Morris, 27, is a 64, 305 lb center who spent 2010 with the Carolina Panthers. He has started 11 of the 51 games in which he has appeared.

Compas, a 25-year-old offensive lineman, was released in September of last season after playing in two games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Medlin, 24, is a running back who played in ten games as a senior at Fayetteville State University in 2010. He rushed for 772 yards and five touchdowns.

The terms of the contracts have not been announced.

The Patriots also released running back Thomas Clayton and rookie free agent offensive lineman Mike Berry.
