Regardless of what the experts say that might be,linebacker Jerod Mayo is excited to see that this years defense will focus ongiving multiple looks.
Were a very multiple defense, said Mayo prior toTuesdays practice at Gillette Stadium. So one week we may come out withpressure, and the next week we may come out sitting back in coverage. So younever know, and I think thats a good quality of this defense.
One week, we may bring a lot of guys. The next week, we maydrop a lot of guys. So theres no telling what coach Bill Belichick isdrawing up in that office right now.
Whatever Belichick is drawing up, Mayo agrees with other playerson the Patriots defense when it comes to what part of their game needs toimprove most.
Just continue to work on communication, said Mayo. Wehave a bunch of new guys out there. Just talking to each other and gettingeverybody on the same page.
