Center Dan Koppen is re-signing with the Patriots. His agent confirms the deal is for two years.
"Dan is excited to be back with the Patriots and playing with Tom Brady," his rep said.
Koppen has been New England's starting center since 2003. But his future with the Patriots was uncertain during this free agency for a variety of reasons: the player missing 15 regular season games in 2011 because of a broken ankle, the team signing center Dan Connolly to a three-year deal, and Koppen's early April visit to the Tennessee Titans.
The new deal seems to signal he'll regain his role as starter.
