Patriots post perfect attendance for a second day

FOXBORO -- New England posted perfect practice attendance Friday before the AFC Championship. It marked the second consecutive full session this week.
Placing Rob Gronkowski on injured reserve Thursday has a lot to do with it.
The tight end suffered his second forearm fracture of the season in last weekend's Divisional Playoff. Reports surfaced that Gronkowski's year was over before the game even ended; the Patriots made it official on yesterday's practice report.
Consequently, the Patriots now have an open spot on the 53-man roster. How they might fill it remains to be seen. The team had just one player limited Thursday -- defensive end Chandler Jones. Cornerback Marquice Cole (finger), offensive lineman Nick McDonald (shoulder), defensive end Trevor Scott (knee), and Danny Woodhead (thumb) were all upgraded from limited to full participation.
Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard, who had a non-injury related absence Wednesday, was removed from the participation report the following day.
Players wore sweats and shells for Friday's practice session. They worked out on the Gillette Stadium turf.
