MARKETING

Comcast SportsNet New England is looking for hard working, enthusiastic, proactive individuals, with a background in public relations and marketing, to directly assist in the implementation of a variety of public relations programs, consumer promotion campaigns and other marketing projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Maintain internal and external communications with media, advertisers, affiliates and consumers
-Assist in the preparation and distribution of CSN press material
-Assist in the collection of press clips, photo files and mailing lists
-Attend and assist with various community outreach campaigns
-Update and maintain the CSN consumer database and respond to viewer e-mail
-Attend on-site promotions at local sporting events (may require nights and weekends)
-Provide various administrative assistance

REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Strong communication and writing skills
-Familiarity with the preparation of pr materials i.e. press releases, fact sheets
-Computer experience with Word, PowerPoint, Excel
-Interest in learning about the sports and television industry
-Interest in sports 

 

CSNNE.com: PRODUCTION
Video production interns for CSNNE.com receive a hands-on experience with editing and assistance on productions for video uploaded on our website.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Work with Supervising/Multimedia Producers in selecting clips to be edited, uploaded and published to website
-Assist on studio/field production shoots
-Maintain archive system
-Research video library

REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Strong communication and writing skills
-Familiarity with Final Cut Pro
-Basic knowledge of Adobe Photosop
-Experience in use of video/audio equipment

 


CSNNE.com: EDITORIAL/JOURNALISM

Editorial interns for CSNNE.com receive a hands-on experience with editing and assistance of posting written content to CSNNE.com.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Help in the production of the site by coding and uploading stories (Drupal)
-Ability to write basic breaking news stories
-Working with editors in the gathering and sizing of photographs for the site
-(Preferred but not required) Use of Photoshop to create images for site thumbnails where appropriate
-Daily monitoring of the sports world via Twitter and the Web, and informing the editors when news breaks

REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Strong communication and writing skills
-Basic knowledge of Adobe Photosop

 


CSNNE.com: SOCIAL MEDIA

Social media interns for CSNNE.com monitor the "buzz" on all social media networks, and schedule deployment of updates from CSN accounts pushing content and promotional messaging


RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Daily monitoring of the sports world via Twitter and the Web, and informing the editors when news breaks
-Use a social media publisher (Hootsuite) to send out programming info, links to online content and other messaging
-Process social media analytics and metrics
-Research how other media outlets leverage established or new technologies on their website, mobile experience or video programming
-Monitor incoming fan messages, comments and questions, and prepare them for potential use on programming
-Monitor general questions via social media and forwarding them on to the appropriate department

REQUIRED SKILLS:
-Strong communication and writing skills
-Proficient in Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other emerging social media networks
-Basic knowledge of Adobe Photosop

 


PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT: CSN NEWSROOM

Editorial interns for CSNNE.com receive a hands-on experience with editing and assistance of posting written content to CSNNE.com.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Interns will get hands on experience in all elements of television production including: writing, editing, the assignment desk, ENG and the control room. 
-Primary responsibilities include logging games (Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins among others)
-Logging interviews and press conferences
-Helping producers and reporters with research for their programs and stories
-Running teleprompter during the broadcasts
-On occasion assist personnel in the field.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

-Strong communication and writing skills
-Basic knowledge of Final Cut Pro

 

 


SPECIAL PROJECTS –FEATURE PRODUCTION

Special Projects interns receive hands-on experience with producing, editing, and assistance on documentary features and specialized productions for broadcast.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Primary responsibility will be to assist the Special Projects Producer with various on-going productions
-Work on documentary and feature presentations
-Assist on field production shoots
-Assist with scheduling of production shoots and meetings
-General research assignments pertaining to on-going productions
-Maintain and archive footage for on-going productions



REQUIRED SKILLS:

-Strong communication and writing skills

-Familiarity with Final Cut Pro
-Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

-Experience in use of video/audio equipment
-Interest in production and editing process

 

 

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT: CELTICS BROADCAST
The Boston Celtics Production Department at Comcast SportsNet handles all the creative and organizational elements for the telecast of the 17-time NBA Champions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Logging highlight footage for broadcast purposes
-Working on research materials for our reporters and talent
-Assisting in maintaining the footage created and acquired for Celtics production
-Completing work on both short-term and long-term archival projects (using non-linear editors). 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

We are open to any level of experience, but some knowledge of TV equipment is helpful. Strong understanding of Basketball and the NBA is desired for this internship.
