FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New York Red Bulls scored on each side of halftime to secure a 2-0 win over the New England Revolution on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
Eric Alexander opened the scoring in the 17th minute when he nodded through a Lloyd Sam free kick at the back stick. Peguy Luyindula added another in the 76th minute to seal the Red Bulls’ first victory in Foxborough since 2002.
With the win, the Red Bulls snapped a four-game winless streak (0-3-1), while the loss sent the Revolution to their second straight defeat with the World Cup break on tap.
