It was a classic tale of two halves in Saturday’s match between the Revolution and Red Bulls. And as is often the case in such affairs, one team came away from it covered in disappointment.
After staking an early lead and getting the benefit of a man advantage before the break, the Revolution conceded not one, but two shorthanded goals in the second half en route to a 2-1 loss to the Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena.
“I couldn’t have been prouder of the guys (in the first half),” Revolution coach Jay Heaps told the media after the match. “The second half was really disappointing, and we just didn’t react well.”
